Kien Giang Provincial Police roll out new working plans

PSNews – The 53rd Provincial Police Conference of Kien Giang took place on January 14. Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and delivered a keynote speech at the event.

According to Major General Bui Tuyet Minh, Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police, all key security  areas in the province in 2018 were well ensured. Particularly, the number of crimes related to social order reduced by 65 cases (5.79%) compared with 2017. The provincial police also actively grasped issues related to border, sea, religion, ethnicity and civil disputes, petitions and complaints, and denied “hot-spots” of security and order.

Moreover, the provincial police took more comprehensive measures to prevent and combat crimes in all areas, launched 3 major campaigns to suppress effectively all kinds of crime, ensured safety and order during all holidays and celebrations, and cracked down on criminal gangs, usury networks.

Notably, the rate of successfully investigated cases reached 91.2% and 1,661 offenders were captured while that of serious cases was 98.39%. These merits of the provincial police were recognized and praised by the authorities and people.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son recognized and appreciated the achievements gained by the Provincial Police of Kien Giang in 2018. He also urged the provincial police to step up their efforts in fighting newly emerging crimes, including black credit and usury.

Deputy Minister Son also asked the provincial police to drastically and effectively fight crimes in security-complex areas, particularly in the island district of Phu Quoc.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son also asked the provincial police department to implement plans to ensure security and order during the Lunar New Year and festive season of 2019.

As authorized by the Minister of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son handed the Decision on the appointment of Senior Colonel Le Van Quy to Vice Director of the Provincial Police Department.
