Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to Vietnam Choi Yong Sam highly appreciated positive developments in the bilateral cooperation and relationship between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea over the years, including maritime security cooperation. 

He underlined that the vehicles are just the first batch, adding that the Korean plans to aid two patrol ships to the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long thanked the Korean side for the vehicles as well as for sending experts to train Vietnamese police officers in coastal patrol skills. 

He said, “We believe that the means will be used effectively in training to build the capacity of the Vietnamese Marine Police Force so that the force can conduct patrols in th country’s coastal areas, maintaining security and order at sea, and control illegal activities at sea.
