Lai Chau police forces continue efforts to help people overcome floods

PSNews - Heavy downpours last week caused flashfloods, which have left 6 dead, 7 missing and caused serious damages to the Lai Chau province. Although the natural disasters have gone, local police officers are still working hard to help locals overcome the consequences.

Flashfloods triggered by overnight torrential rains from August 2 to the morning of August 3 destroyed many houses, construction projects and bridges and ruined large areas of farmland and subsidiary crops in northern Lai Chau province.

According to the VOV, by 10am on August 4, flashfloods and landslides had claimed 6 lives, left 7 people missing and injured 6 in the two communes of Mu Sang and Vang Ma Chai in Phong Tho district of the northern province of Lai Chau. 

Against this backdrop, hundreds of police officers and soldiers have been mobilized for rescue missions during the rains, flooding and landslides, as well as for supporting local people in overcoming the consequences.
