A delegation of the MPS led by Deputy Minister Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To visited the Public Security Department of Information and Communication on the afternoon of June 20 on the occasion of the 97th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).

At the meeting, Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha, Director of the Department of Communications and Information under the Ministry of Public Security, briefed the Deputy Minister on the unit's task performances in recent time.

According to  Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha, over the past years, the public security press sector has developed vigorously and now includes the Public Security Newspaper with several publications and five other newspapers run by local police authorities, the Public Security Television (ANTV), the Public Security Radio, the Public Security Online Newspaper (PSNews) and the Public Security Review. 

Over the past time, the public security press sector has quickly popularized the guidelines and directions of the Party, policies and laws of the State, and the directions of the MPS’s leadership while press and media products made by the public security press and media sector also focus on reflecting the People’s Public Security Forces’ core missions of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety.

Especially, public security newspapers, TV and Radio have effectively fought wrong and hostile views against the Party and the State, and served as a bridge between the Public Security Forces and the people.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To congratulated leaders of the department, as well as all journalists at the public security press and media agencies on the occasion. On behalf of the MPS leadership, he presented flowers of congratulations to the leaders of the department.

Highlighting achievements of the department and the corps of public security journalists, he said that public security press and media agencies had quickly and precisely reflected important political, social, economic, cultural and sport events as well as activities of the Public Security Forces.

Particularly, the public security press and media take the lead in preventing and fighting crime, protecting national security, maintaining public order and safety while depicting a beautiful image of the police officer and promoting the building of the lean strong regular elite and modernized Public Security Forces.

The deputy minister requested the leadership of the department to create more favorable for journalists at public security press and media to work and invest in facilities for public security press and media agencies.

He also asked public security press and media to improve the quality and attractiveness of their publications, and diversify forms and publications of public security press and media, take good care of their material and cultural lives, build a corps of public security journalists with good virtues and good expertise.
