Leadership of Police Department for Economic Crimes appointed

PSNews – The Police Department for Corruption, Smuggling and Economic Crimes, under the Ministry of Public Security on August 17, organized a meeting to announce decisions of the Minister of Public Security on the posting of its leading positions, its functions, missions and organizational structure.

The event saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency under the MPS.

At the event, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong handed the Decision of the Minister of Public Security to appoint Major General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, former Vice Director of the General Department of Police, as Director of the Police Department for Economic Crimes.

Additionally, 8 other senior officers were also appointed as Vice Director of the Department. The new Police Department for Economic Crimes is mainly constituted of the Investigation Police Department for Economic Crimes and Corruption and the Police Department for Smuggling Prevention and Control.

In the first 6 months of 2018, the Economic Police force advised the Government and various ministries, branches and local authorities at all levels to effectively implement measures to prevent and combat economic crimes and corruption, particularly in the sectors of banking, telecommunications, transportation and land management.

For their achievements, various officers of the Department have been awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of Public Security, the National Steerring Committee 389, the Ministry of Finance, and the Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong praised the achievements of the economic police force. He also noted difficulties and challenges facing the force, and required them to strive to fulfill all given tasks.
