Major drug trafficking ring in Quang Binh stamped out

The Anti-drug Unit under the Quang Binh Border Guard Command in coordination with functional forces cracked down on a major drug trafficking case, arresting 4 persons, seizing 110,000 pills of synthetic drugs, 3 cars, 19 million Lao Kip and many exhibits.

The ambush took place at 11.30 am on March 27 in Nhom Ma Lat, Kham Muon Province of Laos. The drug traffickers drastically fought back functional forces and injured a serviceman, who was then hospitalized.

4 Lao traffickers were finally overpowered and arrested by the participating forces. They are aged from 20 to 62.

This is the largest transnational drug trafficking ring ever uncovered by the Border Guard Command of Quang Binh.

On the evening of the same day, Mr. Tran Cong Thuat, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of the Provincial Border Guard Command of Quang Binh came to the border guard unit and congratulated the participating officers and soldiers on their feats of arms as well as inquired after and encouraged the injured officer.
