Major gambling case cracked down in Ha Giang

PSNews – The Criminal Police Division of Ha Giang on July 29 coordinated with the Provincial Mobile Police and Police of Vi Xuyen to successfully crack down on a major gambling case, seizing some VND 2 billion in cash and many exhibits.

The gamblers were caught in red hand in the house of Tran Van Sau and Le ThiHanh, Residential Area 14, Vi Xuyen town, Vi Xuyen district.

The gamblers coming from Ha Giang city, districts of Vi Xuyen, Bac Quang and Bac Me (Ha Giang) and neighboring provinces have various backgrounds.

The police arrested 49 persons involved in the case, seized on the spot VND 218 million in cash and various relevant exhibits. Additionally, the police also detected some VND 1.6 billion held by the gamblers at the time of arrest and cars and motorbikes.

This gambling spot operated for a long time and attracted gamblers from various localities, causing much concern to the local residents.

The illegal home-made casino was held in a firm structure with many entrances and exits, and was carefully guarded.

The case is under extended investigation.
