Medical staff from public security hospitals voluntarily go to COVID-19 epicenter

A delegation of volunteer doctors and nurses at Hospital 199 under the Ministry of Public Security (stationed in Son Tra district, Da Nang city) set out to support Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son and Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People's Committee Le Quang Nam bid farewell to the delegation.

53 qualified medical staff, including 17 doctors, 28 nurses, 06 medical technicians and 2 pharmacists, joined the mission. They will support the local health sector in vaccinating, taking samples for testing, and quarantining newly-arriving foreigners. All members of the delegation were vaccinated, of which 70% got the second jab. 

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son, over the past time, the public security health sector has sent many doctors and nurses to help Bac Giang province in the fight against the pandemic, which was highly appreciated by the authorities and people of the province. 

Under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, nearly 90 doctors and nurses from Hospital 199 and other public security medical facilities will be sent to pandemic-hit Southern provinces to help them control the disease. 

* On the same day, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Hospital sent two general doctors and three nurses to Ho Chi Minh City to support the city’s efforts in the anti-pandemic fight.
