Minister Luong Tam Quang attends 45 years since MPS sent first expert delegation to do international duty in Cambodia

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang attended a meeting to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the first expert delegation from the Ministry of Public Security’s (MPS) to perform international duty in Cambodia (K79 delegation), on November 28th, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, Head of the Liaison Committee of the former Vietnamese police and security experts working in Cambodia Senior Colonel Trinh Hong Doan and other delegates recalled their their experiences of performing noble international duty as members of the K79 delegation for nearly 10 years in Cambodia.

According to official statistics, nearly 4,000 Vietnamese public security officials and experts were sent to Cambodia.

On behalf of the Public Security Party Central Committee and MPS leaders, Minister Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and applauded the outstanding achievements of MPS officials and experts in supporting the country and people of Cambodia.

The Minister affirmed that the Public Security Forces always show great respect and gratitude to generations of public security officers in general and those working in Cambodia in particular for their sacrifice for the cause of national liberation in the past and the current building and defense of the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam as well as for their great international service.

Minister Luong Tam Quang stated, “Our country will have a number of fundamental opportunities and advantages, but also face new and greater difficulties, challenges in the time to come.”

The Minister hoped that all Cambodia veterans of MPS would further promote the glorious traditions of the Public Security Forces, heighten their political stance and revolutionary ethics as well as fulfill their citizenships.

He also wished that all of them would heighten their sense of responsibility and actively participate in Party building and government building, contribute to socio-economic development and ensuring security and order in their localities.
