Minister Luong Tam Quang hosts delegation from Cuban Biotech Group

Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with a delegation of the Cuban Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and Medical Technology Industry Group (BioCubaFarma) led by its Director of Sales and Business Norkis Arteaga Morales, on the morning of November 6th, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang underlined that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Cuban Ministry of the Interior always maintained close bilateral relations, in which health cooperation is always considered a top priority.

The minister highlighted that the two sides have witnessed positive results in the health cooperation with the outstanding achievements in cooperation between Grade-1 hospitals under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the CIMEQ hospital under the Cuban Ministry of the Interior.

The host revealed that the two sides annually exchange many delegations of medical experts from hospitals under the two ministries to share hands-on experience in the fields of healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

Based on positive cooperation results over the past 5 years, Minister Luong Tam Quang released that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam had decided to establish a center for research and application of biological and pharmaceutical products of Cuba located in the 19-8 Hospital under the Ministry of Public Security, and expressed his belief that the establishment of the center will create an important foundation for the two sides to promote health cooperation in a practical and effective manner.

To further promote bilateral cooperation in the coming time, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the BioCubaFarma Group serve as a bridge expanding cooperation in the fields of healthcare and pharmaceuticals between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Cuban Ministry of the Interior in particular, between the two countries in general.

The host also wished that the BioCubaFarma Group would closely coordinate with Vietnamese functional agencies to soon bring their products into the Vietnamese market through the Center for Research and Application of Biological and Pharmaceutical Products of Cuba of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, as well as transfer production technology of some Cuban drugs to the center.

Sincerely thanking Minister Luong Tam Quang for the meeting, Mrs. Norkis Arteaga Morales voiced that the BioCubaFarma Group highly appreciated the establishment of the Center for Research and Application of Biological and Pharmaceutical Products of Cuba of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, and affirmed their wish to expand cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in healthcare and pharmaceuticals fields.

Mrs. Norkis Arteaga Morales proposed that the Ministry of Public Security closely coordinate with the Cuban BioCubaFarma Group to effectively operate the center, contributing to protecting people’s health as well as tightening the special traditional friendship between the two countries.
