The Minister revealed that the Turkish Ministry of the Interior had supported the Vietnamese side in training the first seven Vietnamese police peacekeepers in preparation for the deployment to United Nations peacekeeping missions. Of them, six are currently working at the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

Underscoring that there are still great potential for the bilateral cooperation in the security and defense industry, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the Turkish Defense Industry Agency President help connect the Vietnam’s MPS to leading Turkish enterprises operating in this field.

At the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen delegation exchanges at various levels to share experience and explore cooperation opportunity in areas of mutual interest.

They also pledged to step up negotiations to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the security industry, creating a legal foundation for long-term collaboration between the two sides.
