Minister Luong Tam Quang hosts outgoing Cuban Ambassador

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Vietnam Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén, who came to bid farewell to leaders of the Ministry of Public Security as he is about to end his term of office in Vietnam, on the morning of November 7th, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang congratulated Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén on his success in his term of office in Vietnam, and believed that the Cuban Ambassador will continue to make significance contributions to the cause of protecting and developing Cuba, a compassionate, self-reliant and heroic nation.

The host affirmed that throughout the 64-year history of the Vietnam - Cuba bilateral relations, the special, loyal and pure friendship between the two Parties and States has been increasingly strengthened on the basis of the common noble revolutionary ideal of struggling for independence and freedom of the two nations located in the Eastern and Western hemispheres.

Over the past time, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has attached great importance to strengthening and promoting cooperation and relations with the Cuban Ministry of the Interior, bringing about numerous positive outcomes.

The two sides regularly exchanged information regarding common threats and challenges as well as expanded cooperation in transnational crime prevention and control, cybersecurity, healthcare and capacity building of law enforcement forces.

To tighten the relations between the two Parties, States and ministries in a practical and effective manner, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the two sides continue to effectively implement cooperation contents in line with the agreements reached by the two countries' top leaders during the recent visit of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam to Cuba.

The Minister also proposed that the two sides continue to closely coordinate and support each other at international forums, enhance delegation exchange between the two ministries as well as share information and hands-on experience in immigration management, healthcare as well as capacity-building of law enforcement forces.

For his part, Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén sincerely thanked the Ministry of Public Security and Minister Luong Tam Quang personally for supporting him during his term-of-office in Vietnam.

The Cuban Ambassador said, no matter which working position he will hold in the future, he will spare no effort to further promote the bilateral cooperation and relations in a practical and effective manner, contributing to strengthening the good friendship between the two Parties and States in general and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Cuban Ministry of the Interior in particular.
