Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with Mr. Tsuneda Teruo, Vice President of the Japan Association of Public Health, on July 2 in Hanoi.

Welcoming Mr. Tsuneda Teruo to the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed appreciation for his positive contributions during his tenure as Director of the Mainichi Newspaper Group, one of Japan’s leading and most reputable media organizations.

The Minister noted that over the years, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Mainichi Newspaper Group have successfully co-hosted several meaningful cultural exchange events, including the World Police Concert in 2011 and the Kizuna Ekiden Race in 2018 and 2019.

He emphasized that the upcoming 2025 World Police Concert, to take place in Vietnam, will be a major diplomatic and cultural event in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnamese Public Security Forces.

Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed confidence that the concert, which has thoroughly been prepared by both sides,  will be a resounding success and beautify the image of the Vietnamese police officer, who is always friendly, dedicated and committed to ensuring peace and happiness of the people.

Minister Luong Tam Quang encouraged Mr. Tsuneda Teruo to continue playing an active role in fostering cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security and relevant Japanese agencies, enterprises and international organizations.

He proposed that the Ministry and the Japan Association of Public Health maintain regular cultural and sports exchanges, and that the Japan Association of Public Health encourage high-profile Japanese  partners to cooperate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in cybersecurity, traffic safety, fire and rescue operations and high-quality healthcare.

The guest also suggested that the Japan Association of Public Health proactively collaborate with   Japanese law enforcement agencies to support the Vietnamese community legally living, working and studying in Japan as well as promote cooperation between local police units of the two countries.

Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed hope that Mr. Tsuneda Teruo will continue to support the Ministry in fostering reliable and effective partnerships with Japanese counterparts, contributing to a safer and more stable environment for the mutual benefits of both nations.

Sincerely thanking Minister Luong Tam Quang for the warm reception, Mr. Tsuneda Teruo reaffirmed the significance of deepening cultural exchanges between the law enforcement agencies of Japan and Vietnam.

He pledged to continue working closely with functional units of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to promote practical cooperation activities, contributing to the strengthening of the friendly and trustworthy relationship between Japan and Vietnam.
