Minister of Public Security of Vietnam and Japan Coast Guard forces seek opportunity for cooperation

Within the framework of the visit to Japan of Minister of Public Security To Lam at the invitation of Japanese law enforcement agencies, on April 5, 2023, General To Lam and a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam paid a visit to the Japan Coast Guard.

Vice Admiral of the Japanese Coast Guard Nagai Nobukazu welcomed Minister To Lam and the Vietnamese delegation.

At the meeting between the two sides, Minister To Lam expressed his pleasure of visiting the Japan Coast Guard and while taking a tour on the coastal patrol ship Matsunami of the Japanese Coast Guard.

The guest extended best regards to the Coast Guard of Japan on the 75th anniversary of its founding of the force (May 1, 1948).

Vice Admiral of the Japanese Coast Guard Nagai Nobukazu said, he had honor to welcome Minister To Lam and the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to the Headquarters of the Japanese Coast Guard on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations.

The host also hailed the cooperation of Japan and Vietnam in ensuring maritime security and safety.

The two sides agreed to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

* On the afternoon of the same day, Minister To Lam and the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam left Tokyo, successfully ending their visit to Japan and departing for an official visit to the Republic of Korea at the invitation of Korean law enforcement agencies.
