Minister of Public Security paid working visit to United Arab Emirates

PSNews - A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, led by its Minister, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo Member, on October 2, paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates at the invitation of Mr. Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al him Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister of the UAE.

An official reception was given to Vietnamese Public Security Minister To Lam and his entourage. At the reception, The host warmly welcomed the Vietnamese public security delegation, highly valued the visit to the country of Minister To Lam, and expressed pleasure at positive developments in bilateral ties and security cooperation between the UAE Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in particular, and between the UAE and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV) in general.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the UAE Pham Binh Dam also attended the talks.

Minister To Lam extended sincere thanks to Mr. Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al him Nahyan, the Royal Family of the UAE and other members of the UAE delegation for their warm and sincere reception. The Minister of Public Security of Vietnam also expressed his delight visiting UAE, a beautiful country and one of the most dynamic financial centers in the world.

For nearly 25 years, the cooperation between Vietnam and the UAE has achieved many good results in the fields of politics, diplomacy, economics, trade and investment, socio-cultural, labor, and anti-crime.

During the talks, the two sides agreed on measures to promote cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, and the Ministry of Interior and other law enforcement agencies of the UAE on security, contributing to the peace, stability and development of each country as well as the region and the world.

The two sides also affirmed to further enhance cooperation in prevention and fight against crimes such as new crimes, transnational crimes, and to promote cooperation through the INTERPOL channel.

In conclusion, Vietnamese Public Security Minister To Lam and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed a cooperation agreement between the two ministries on the crime prevention, and pledged to review the Agreement on the Extradition of Sentenced Persons.
