Minister of Public Security pays official visit to Israel

PSNews - A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, led by its Minister, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, on November 13, left for Israel to pay an official visit to the country at the invitation of the Government and relevant agencies of Israel.

Shortly after his arrival in Israel, on Nov. 14 (local time), Minister To Lam had talks with Mr. Gilad Erdan, Minister of Public Security, and Minister of Information and met with Israeli Minister of Defense Avigdor Lieberman.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Israel Cao Tran Quoc Hai also attended the events.

At the talks, Minister Gilad Erdan warmly welcomed Minister To Lam, highly valued the visit to the country of the Vietnamese public security delegation, and expressed pleasure at positive developments in bilateral ties and security cooperation between the two countries in general and between Israeli law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in particular.

Minister To Lam extended sincere thanks to Mr. Gilad Erdan for his reception, and stated that the Vietnamese State, People and Ministry of Public Security always attaches great importance to developing friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with the Israeli law enforcement agencies.

Vietnam applauded the great achievements made by the Israel people in building and developing the country, he added.

During the talks, the two ministers agreed on measures to further strengthen cooperation in prevention and fight against crimes, particularly transnational crimes and terrorism.

The two sides also agreed to build a cooperation mechanism to protect confidential information, to promote cyber security and combat cyber terrorism.

During the meeting with Israel’s Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, the two sides expressed pleasure at the outcome of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation to protect confidential information and the Memorandum of Understanding on Industrial and Technological Cooperation in the field of Homeland Security signed between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Israeli Ministry of Defense.

The two sides noted, relations between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Israeli Ministry of Defense are continuously growing, contributing positively to the development of the friendly relationship between the two countries.

Minister To Lam also received Director of the International Cooperation General Department under the Ministry of Defense of Israel, Brigadier General Mishen Ben Baruch.

During his stay in Israel, Minister of Public Security visited and talked with diplomats and officials of the Vietnam Embassy in Israel.

Minister To Lam appreciated the achievements of the embassy in recent years, and asked the embassy’s staff to boost friendly relations with Israel.
