Presenting a summary report on the general order and security situation in the country and results of the forces’ task performances in November, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Dang Hong Duc stated, over the past month, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security have proactively advised the Party and State on various appropriate policies and guidelines, contributing to maintaining order and political security in the country, as well as firmly protecting national sovereignty and national security.

During the month, the nationwide police force cleared 3,707 cases related to violation of social order, 430 gambling cases involving 1,631 subjects, detected and investigated 374 economic wrongdoing cases with 650 subjects, and 77 cases violating environmental protection related to 97 persons committing environmental crimes. 

Specially, police discovered and investigated 1,704 drug-related cases, arrested 2,740 suspects, seized nearly 21 kg of heroin, 190 kg and nearly 208,000 synthetic drug pills.

After listening to the report, delegates pointed out both strengths and weaknesses of agencies and units, drew lessons, and gave solutions to the issues.

Delegates also discussed the crime situation and most possible violations in the end of 2023, particularly economic wrongdoings, corruption and fraud, and proposed measures to prevent and control all kinds of crime in the coming time, especially during the 2024 Lunar New Year (Tet) of the Dragon.

Concluding the conference, Minister To Lam emphasized that all public security agencies should effectively implement their work plans and reach all the set targets to ensure order and security, creating good conditions for people to celebrate the upcoming Tet and other spring festivals .

Minister To Lam also requested police units at all levels and resolutely investigate large and serious criminal cases.
