Minister To Lam speaking at the 2nd Session of the 15th National Assembly.

Minister To Lam affirmed that, since the beginning of 2021 when the fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country, the Government has faced great difficulties in performing the dual tasks of protecting people’s health and maintaining socio-economic activities.

Following the directions of the Party Central Committee, the NA, and the Government, the Ministry of Public Security has effectively fulfilled the “dual goal” of ensuring national security, maintaining public order and participating in the fight against the pandemic as assigned by the Government.

In this context, the Ministry of Public Security directed the police forces to intensify the fight against crimes of all kinds as well as to ensure cyber-security, traffic order, and fire safety.

Thanks to their efforts, the crime rate has been reduced while the rate of successfully-investigated cases has surpassed the target assigned by the NA.

As the COVID-19 pandemic will continue affecting the country’s socio-economic development in the coming time while criminals tend to increase their activities with various fine tricks, Minister To Lam hoped that the NA and voters across the country would further support the Ministry of Public Security and the police forces in the fight against crimes.
