The provincial-level police departments nationwide have deployed 48,000 regular police officers to all communes and wards by the end of Q1 2022. The communal police force has effectively maintained security and order, creating positive changes in nationwide communes.

The communal police force, however, is facing various difficulties as they are lacking living and working facilities. In various localities, the communal police have to work in their living places.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam asked all relevant under-ministerial agencies and provincial-level police departments to sum up the current equipment and facilities at communal police posts and report the real situation to the MPS leadership. The Minister also called on local authorities to support equipment and facilities for the communal police force.

The Minister requested relevant agencies and units to provide sufficient equipment and working and living facilities for all communal police posts by 2023, stressing that the improvement of communal-level police posts is an important element in building clean, strong, regular and elite Public Security Forces by 2030.
