(MUNG 1 TET) On the occasion of the 2023 Vietnamese traditional New Year (Tet) - Year of Cat, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security General To Lam sent best wishes to all officers, soldiers, students and contractors working for the Ministry of Public Security as well as retired officers, wounded officers and relatives of martyrs of the Public Security Forces.

The Public Security Newspaper would like to present the English version of the letter as follows:

Dear Comrades!

On the occasion of the 2023 Vietnamese traditional New Year, the Year of Cat, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Ministry, I would like to extend the best regards and best wishes to all leaders, officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, students, public security workers and contractors as well as retired officers, wounded officers and relatives of martyrs of the Public Security Forces.

Thanks to the sound leadership of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, the whole political system, and the great support and assistance of the people, the Public Security Forces in collaboration with the Vietnam People's Army, ministries, branches and functional agencies, successfully deployed and fulfilled all major and important plans.

Specially, the Public Security Forces took the lead in implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, the resolutions, directives and instructions of the Party Central Committee while the Ministry of Public Security advised the Politburo to issue Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW, dated March 16, 2022 on promoting the building of truly clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern Public Security Forces, meeting the task requirements in the new situation, as well as recommended the Government the launch Project 06 on boosting the application of population, electronic identification and electronic authentication data to the national digital transformation in the period 2022 - 2025, with a vision toward 2030.

The Ministry of Public Security advised the Party and State on guidelines and strategic solutions to firmly protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national development.

Meanwhile, the Public Security Forces also gained various achievements in the fight against crimes, made innovations and breakthroughs in State management of security and order. The year of 2022 also marked the first time the Ministry of Public Security sent police officers to participate in UN peacekeeping operations.

At home, officers and soldiers of the Public Security Forces always devoted themselves to serving the country, the people, maintaining public order and security, and the peaceful life and happiness of the people. Their great effort and achievements have been recognized and applauded by the Party, State, people and international friends.

The year of 2023 will bring us both opportunities and challenges. The Public Security Forces should continuously promote their heroic, glorious tradition to achieve more achievements, and overcome all difficulties and challenges to successfully complete all assigned tasks, as well as reach the goal of building truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern Public Security Forces, living up to the trust and love of the Party, State and people.

I wish all comrades and your families good health, happiness and success in the Year of Cat!
