Minister To Lam meets with Chinese colleagues

PSNews – Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam on January 13 met with Chinese Minister of State Security Chen Wenqing and Commander of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force Wang Ning.

The meetings were on the schedule of the official visit of the high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

At the meetings, the two sides expressed pleasure over good growth of bilateral relations in all areas, especially the effective cooperation between Vietnam’s Public Security Ministry and Ministry of State Security and Chinese People's Armed Police, contributing to the traditional relations of friendship, and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two Parties, States and peoples of the two countries.

The two sides agreed to further strengthen exchange of delegations at all levels and to exchange information about situations and to share experience in order to boost bilateral ties and cooperation between the two nations in general and between the Vietnam’s Public Security Ministry and Chinese law enforcement agencies in particular.

Regarding cooperation on security and order, the two sides shared their viewpoints on information exchange on terrorism, organized crime, transnational crime and cyber crime. The two sides also want to further cooperation in maintaining absolute safety for major political events in each country and in ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of both countries, who is living and working in the other country.

Cooperation in the field of training and the Vietnam – China Security Dialogue at Deputy Minister level was also agreed to be further expanded in the coming time.

The Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and the Chinese People's Armed Police at the meeting also agreed to study and establish cooperation mechanisms and to early sign agreements, aiming to create a legal basis of cooperation in law enforcement activities and in protecting the Parties, the socialist system in each country.
