Politburo member and Minister of Public Security General To Lam attended and delivered a speech at a meeting with typical officers from police units nationwide in drug prevention and control, on the afternoon of June 14, 2023, in Hanoi.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam praises units and officers for their outstanding feats and achievements in the fight against illicit drugs and drug-related crimes.

In his remarks at the meeting, Minister To Lam emphasized the need to to block the "supply" chain of illicit drugs and reduce the "demand" for drugs.

He requested relevant forces not to let Vietnam become an illicit drug transit and instructed that in the fight against illicit drugs and drug-related crime, the police forces should eliminate the whole drug-trafficking line, catch the mastermind, and prevent illicit drugs from entering the country early and from afar. 

Police at local levels should build free-narcotics commune, mobilize the entire political system and the entire people to participate in preventing and fighting illicit drugs and drug-related crimes.

On behalf of the delegation of typical officers in the fight against illicit drugs, Chief of the Counter-Narcotics Office under the Lang Son Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Ba Hanh thanked Minister To Lam and other leaders of the Ministry of Public Security for their sound leadership and smart instructions in the fight illicit drugs and drug-related crimes, saying that leaders of the Ministry of Public Security had created best conditions for the counter-narcotics police forces to successfully complete their assigned tasks.

He promised that he and his comrades will overcome all difficulties, brave all dangers and complete all assigned tasks, contributing to maintaining public order and safety and peaceful life of the people.
