Minister To Lam meets with visiting delegation of retired officers from Ho Chi Minh city

PSNews - General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, on September 29 chaired a meeting in Hanoi with the Retired Police Public Security Officers’ Club of Ho Chi Minh city.

At the meeting, Senior Colonel Tran Cuong, former Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Police Department, Chairman of the Retired Public Security Officers’ Club of Ho Chi Minh City briefed Minister To Lam on results of the Club’s operation in the past time.

According to the report, the club carried various activities in accordance with the laws and its regulations. Particularly, the Club has maintained and promoted the good traditions of the People's Public Security Forces and strengthen the comradeship among its members and connectivity between the retired and current police officers and soldiers. It also contributed positively to ensuring local security and social order.

On behalf of the Public Security Party Central Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam warmly welcomed the delegates of the Retired Police Officers’ Club of Ho Chi Minh City who were visiting Hanoi and other Northern provinces.

The Minister extended best wishes to all members of the Club and hoped that it will further develop, and effectively contributing to the development of the Ho Chi Minh City police force. 

Minister To Lam praised the contributions of the retired officers to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the development of the People Public Security Forces. 

The Minister of Public Security then informed the delegation on the security and order situation in the country in recent time. According to Minister To Lam, the public security agencies and units paid due attention to Party and force building. Particularly, professional policemen have been posted to all communes and townships across the country while the organizational apparatus of the public security units at all levels have been consolidated.

Furthermore, all grassroots-level Party organizations in the Public Security Forces have so far organized their Party congresses. Public security units and agencies have also held many meaningful activities to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of the People’s Public Security Forces and 15th “All People Protecting National Security” Festive Day.

Minister To Lam acknowledged that, under the leadership of the Party Committee and Directorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Police Department, the local sub-clubs of retired public security officers have participated in maintaining local security and social order and social activities, contributing to the city's socio-economic development.

Minister To Lam affirmed that the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security always treasured opinions, ideas and recommendations of retired public security officers on protecting national security and maintaining social order as well as on building clean, regular, elite and gradually modernized Public Security Forces. 

The Minister also wished to receive more supports from retired officers in the coming time.
