Minister To Lam pays working visit to Mongolia

General To Lam, Minister of Public Security (MPS), who leads the a high-ranking delegation to visit Mongolia, paid a courtesy call on the Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga and had talks with the Mongolian Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs (MJIA) on July 10.

Speaking at the meeting with the Vietnamese Minister of Public Security, President Khalt Battulga affirmed that the Mongolian State and people always attach importance to developing relations with Vietnam, and appreciate the position and role of Vietnam in the region.

He wished that the Mongolian law enforcement agencies and the MPS would further promote cooperation in the coming time, especially in fighting crimes and building professional capacity of law-enforcement officers.

On behalf of the high-ranking delegation of the MPS, Minister To Lam sincerely thanked Khaltmaa Battulga for the warm reception.

Minister To Lam emphasized that the bilateral cooperation and relations between the MPS and the Mongolian law enforcement agencies have been developing in both width and depth. The two sides informed each other of the situation in each country and exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.

* Previously, the two high-ranking delegations of the Vietnamese MPS and the Mongolian MJIA had bilateral talks at the State Palace.

At the talks, the two sides affirmed serious implementation of the common perceptions of the two countries’ leaders in the field of security, law enforcement as well as of contents in the signed agreements.

Under the authorization of the Vietnamese President and the Mongolian President, Minister To Lam and Minister Tsend Nyamdorj signed the Treaty on Extradition between Vietnam and Mongolia. 

The signing of the Extradition Agreement made a new and important step forward in criminal justice cooperation between the two sides. The deal serves as a legal framework for the two countries’ law enforcement agencies to cooperate in arresting and extraditing fled criminals.
