General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore to Vietnam Catherine Wong Siow Ping, as she paid a farewell visit to the MPS on December 28 before completing her term of office in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Minister To Lam emphasized that the Vietnamese Government and people in general and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in particular highly appreciated the contribution of Ms. Catherine Wong Siow Ping to the relations and cooperation between the two countries and between MPS of Vietnam and the Singaporean relevant agencies over the past time.

Minister To Lam emphasized that the cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and the Singaporean relevant agencies over the past time had developed in various areas, including crime prevention and combat, fire prevention and fighting and rescue. The effective cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and Singaporean counterpart contributed to the security and national defense cooperation between the two countries.

Minister To Lam expressed his hope that the Singaporean Ambassador would continue to contribute to the relations between the two countries in general and between the MPS of Vietnam and law enforcement agencies of Singapore in particular.

Sincerely thanking to Minister To Lam for his warm reception, Ambassador Catherine Wong Siow Ping stated that, in any future positions, she would continue serve as a bridge between the two sides and contribute to bolstering the traditional relations between the two countries.
