Minister of Public Security General To Lam hosted a meeting with the Republic of Korea (RoK) Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Choi Yong Sam, who has just taken in office as the RoK ambassador to Vietnam, on August 31 in Hanoi.

On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam congratulated the ambassador on his appointment, and wished him big success during his term of office in Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the relationship between the two countries as well as expanding cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and law enforcement agencies of RoK.

The host suggested that the ambassador support the law enforcement agencies of the two countries to increase information exchange, consultations and coordination in presenting their viewpoints at international meetings.

Minister To Lam also underlined that the two sides need to effectively exploit cooperation mechanisms and expand cooperation in countering non-traditional security threats as well as transnational crime in the coming time.

Minister To Lam expressed pleasure as the two countries have upgraded their relations to a comprehensive trategic partnership on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in December 2022.

Expressing thanks to Minister To Lam for the meeting, the guest affirmed that he would try his best to strengthen relations between Vietnam and RoK as well as cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries for the sake of mutual benefits of the two nations.
