Minister To Lam sends encouragement letter to public security officers, soldiers on frontline of fight against COVID-19

PSNews - General To Lam, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security, on August 7 sent a letter praising and encouraging the public security officers and soldiers who are working on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19 across the country.

The main contents of the letter are translated as follows:

Amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, public security units and agencies nationwide have drastically implemented the instructions of the Party Central Committee, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security on pandemic prevention and control, to protect the People's Public Security Forces and the society as a whole from the disease. Notably, local police officers came to every household to collect information about COVID-19 infected cases and suspects for promptly treatment and quarantine, contributing to effectively preventing the pandemic from spreading out in the community.

The Public Security Forces, in close coordination with military units, the health sector, the border guard and coast guard forces, have effectively controlled entry into and exit from the country as well as intensified the management of foreigners’ residence in order to control the number of infectious cases imported into Vietnam. They also safeguarded concentrated quarantine zones while actively fighting crimes related to pandemic prevention and control and strictly handling those spreading false information about pandemic.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam recognized and praised the achievements and efforts of all public security officers and soldiers. The Minister also praised good examples of the Public Security Forces who are working directly on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic.

Furthermore, the Minister asked the all public security units and agencies to continue strictly following the guidelines and instructions of the Party Central Committee, the Government as well as the directions and plans of the Ministry of Public Security’s leadership on COVID-19 prevention and control.

All public security units and agencies should be ready to mobilize their forces and medical equipment to support the police of Da Nang, Quang Nam and other pandemic-hit localities to fight the disease.

Regarding public security units and agencies at high risk of COVID-19 infection, the Minister asked them to actively coordinate with the local health sector and the M of Public Security’s Department of Health to take appropriate plans and promptly quarantine the infected. They should also take good care of public security officers and soldiers who are infected with the disease or quarantined at the public security medical facilities.
