The meeting saw the attendance of Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

According to reports at the meeting, the pilot project to connect between the NPD and databases of Central agencies and ministries has been implemented on the schedule. The connection has remained stable and safe.

Currently, the NPD system has been successfully connected with the Traffic Police Department via the Vietnam Data Exchange Platform, which facilitates vehicle registration and handling of traffic violations. Over the past one month of the pilot connection, the Department has successfully handled over 1,000 traffic violation cases onlines.

On May 21, the PDSOAM, in coordination with the Vietnam Social Security and the Authority of Information Technology Application (under the Ministry of Information and Communications), launched a pilot project, allowing people to check their personal information on the National Population Database System.

On June 16, the Vietnam Social Security settled over 2 million requests for information verification.

Of the 27 localities with their citizen information services and administrative procedures networks, the PDSOAM successfully connected the system with eight localities namely Hau Giang, Lang Son, Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City, Lao Cai and Thai Nguyen.

Addressing the meeting, Minister To Lam spoke highly of the PDSOAM’s efforts in implementing the pilot project to connect the NPD with ministries and localities.

The Minister asked the Department to closely cooperate with relevant agencies to ensure network security and information safety during the pilot connection between the NPD and other databases inside and outside the Public Security Forces in line with the laws.
