Minister To Lam urges agencies and units to further develop public security officers of ethnic minorities

General To Lam, Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security, had a meeting on March 16 with various functional units to review the building and development of the corps of ethnic minority police officers.

The delegates discussed the results of building and developing ethnic minority public security officers in the past time as well as other issues related to the force building and personnel work. They proposed various solutions to promoting the role of the ethnic minority public security officers in the Public Security Force in the coming time.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam highlighted that the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry attached much importance to the building of the corps of ethnic minority officers in the Public Security Forces. He noted that the building and development of the corps of public security officers of ethnic minorities would importantly contribute to the strategy of protecting the Fatherland, national security and public order and social safety.  This would also serve the national renewal process, industrialization and modernization as well as help strengthen the communal professional police force.

Minister To Lam also urged all public security agencies and police units to have and implement more favorable policies for public security officers of ethnic minorities, draw up plans to regularly recruit qualified ethnic minority youths to the Public Security Forces, and pay more attention to training professional expertise and building working capacity of  public security officers of ethnic minorities, so that they could meet the task requirements of their units and successfully fulfill their assignments.
