Minister To Lam visits Belarus

PSNews - Minister of Public Security, General To Lam, leading a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS),  started an official visit to Belarus on July 13 at the invitation of Belarus's State Security Committee Chairman Valery Pavlovich Vakulchik.

At the meeting, Mr. Valery Pavlovich Vakulchik highly spoke of the visit by the MPS delegation of Vietnam, saying that it would contribute to deepening relations and cooperation between the two countries and between the law enforcement agencies of Belarus and the MPS of Vietnam.

Minister To Lam thanked Mr. Valery Pavlovich Vakulchik for the kind reception and believed that the bilateral traditional relations and mutual trust between the two sides have been continuously promoted over the past time.

The two sides discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern as well as measures to promote the bilateral relations in the coming time focusing on exchange of information and experience in protecting internal political security cooperation in personnel training, as well as on struggling against the strategy “peaceful evolution” of hostile forces and coordinating in fighting organized crimes, high-tech crimes, terrorism, human trafficking and other non-traditional security threats.

On the same day, Minister To Lam and the MPS delegation also held talks with the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, led by its Minister Yury Karayev.

The Belarusian official congratulated Vietnam on its achievements in national construction and development, and appreciated the country’s increasingly important role in the region. Minister Yury Karayev also expressed his pleasure over the effective cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Belarus and the MPS of Vietnam.

Minister To Lam thanked the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus for their support for the MPS of Vietnam in personnel training in fields of criminal investigation, prevention and fight against human trafficking and training of police dogs.

The two sides agreed to continue promoting cooperation in the prevention and fight against crimes, especially transnational organized crime, high-tech crime, human trafficking, illegal immigration and drug-related crime, professional training and capacity building for law enforcement officials.

Later on the same day, Minister To Lam had a meeting with Mr. Andrei Shved, Chairman of the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus, and signed an agreement between the MPS of Vietnam and the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus.
