Minister To Lam visits Public Security Newspaper

General To Lam, Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security,on June 17 paid a visit to the Public Security Newspaper (PSNews) on the occasion of the 95th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).

The meeting saw the participation of Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha, Director of the Department of Information and Communications; Major General To An Xo, Chief of the MPS Office; and leaders, reporters and workers of the PSNews.

Senior Colonel Pham Khai, Editor-in-Chief of the PSNews, briefed Minister To Lam on the development of the newspaper as well as the achievements attained by the PSNews in the past time.

Senior Colonel Pham Khai noted that the PSNews was honored to receive two national press awards this year in addition to many awards from the Central level agencies, ministries and Hanoi municipal authorities.

He highlighted that the achievements of the newspaper stemmed from the care and sound directions from the leadership of the MPS and the Minister in particular, as well as the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communications and Education, the Ministry of Information and Communications and other functional agencies.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam recognized and appreciated the achievements gained by the PSNews over the past time and extended regards to all leaders, reporters and staff at the newspaper on the occasion of the 95th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

He also spent time listening to opinions and recommendations from reporters and officers of the newspaper.

Minister To Lam stressed the need to improve professional expertise and foreign languages skills for the newspaper’s reporters and officers, encouraged them to take more field trips to learn better about people’s lives and operations of local police forces.

The Minister urged the PSNews’ reporters and officers to step up the fight against distorted ideas and fake information about human rights practices in Vietnam while contributing positively to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. He also requested reporters at the newspaper to write more articles on outstanding examples of the Public Security Force, and role models of ensuring security and order in society.
