Minister To Lam works with Van Don police

PSNews - General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, on August 8 had a meeting with the Police Station of Van Don district, Quang Ninh province.

At the meeting, Senior Colonel Vu Thanh Tung, Head of the Police Station, briefed Minister Lam and other delegates on the local public order and security situation and task performance of the local police in the past time.

The local police also advised local Party committees at all levels in the province to deal with issues regarding public security and order while taking effective measures to ensure order and security at sea and on islands.

Meanwhile, they enhanced prevention and combat of crimes; as a result, the number of criminal offences reduced 33.4% compared with the same period last year. The state management over social order was also intensified by the local police while the force building work achieved fruitful outcomes.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam appreciated the efforts and achievements made by the Von Don police, saying that they contributed to stabilizing the political situation and socio-economic development in the locality.

Minister To Lam also pointed out various shortcomings and new challenges, and asked the local police to follow the working plans of the Ministry of Public Security, strive to build a strong and pure police force. He underlined the need to follow the political tasks of the local Party committees and authorities. He asked the local police to maintain a secure, favorable and healthy environment for socio-economic development.

Minister To Lam also asked Van Don Police to focus force on fighting theft, “black credit” and usury, and drug-related crime.
