On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Minister To Lam welcomed the vice chief and the high-ranking delegation of the Indonesian National Police (INP), attending the third Deputy Minister-level Security Dialogue between the MPS of Vietnam and INP.

Over the past 70 years, the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Indonesia has continuously developed, especially since the two sides upgraded their relationship to a Strategic Partnership in 2013. In addition, the two sides have effectively implemented the security cooperation ưithin the framework of various agreements and MoU.

On such a basis, the MPS and INP actively exchanged information on crime and coordinate to ensure security and safety for citizens of the one country living and working in the other while continuing cooperation via the mechanisms of the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC), ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Drug Matters (AMMD), and ASEANAPOL.

Minister To Lam proposed that the two sides continue to increase exchange of high-level delegations and maintain the deputy minister-level security dialogue.

At the talks, the two sides agreed to coordinate to implement the signed cooperation documents to enhance the efficiency of crime prevention and citizen protection, and strengthen cooperation, regularly exchange information, share experiences and closely coordinate in conveying high-level messages and specialized cooperation as well as deny any individual or organization from using the territory of one country to conduct sabotage activities against the other.

Mr. Agus Adrianto thanked Minister To Lam for the warm welcome and meeting, and affirmed that the INP in particular and the Indonesian authorities in general wish to strengthen closer cooperation with the MPS of Vietnam.

The INP Vice Chief expressed hope that the cooperative relationship between Vietnam - Indonesia in general and between the MPS and INC will further develop, contributing to the two countries’ development, for peace, stability, prosperity of the two peoples.
