Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Justice strengthen judicial assistance in criminal investigation

The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Justice held a ceremony to sign a coordination program between the two ministries on direct judicial assistance in criminal investigation, on the afternoon of November 24, in Hanoi.

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General To Lam, and Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long co-chaired the signing ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister To Lam emphasized that the signing of the program on direct judicial assistance in criminal investigation by the two ministries has demonstrated their increasingly close and practical coordination in creating favorable conditions for legal assistance recipients to access information about judicial assistance in the criminal investigation process.

Particularly, the deal also highlights the legal rights and interests of the person receiving legal assistance. 
 

In the reality, the early participation of legal assistants in the investigation of criminal cases helps accused and prosecuted persons feel more secure and understand their rights and obligations, which also facilitates the investigation work.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Le Thanh Long affirmed that the signing of the coordination regulations contributes to ensuring the investigation, prosecution and trial of the precise person for his/her exact violation, creating trust for the people. 

It also strongly promotes the profound humanity and humanity of our Party and State in supporting and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of vulnerable people and policy beneficiaries, contributing to ensuring equality in access to the laws.
