Ministry of Public Security hands over 2 tons of medication to Turkey

Receiving very timely aid from the Ministry of Public Security's police mission participating in rescue operations in Turkey, Deputy Director of the Agency for Disaster and Emergency Response (AFAD) in Adiyaman Isamail Sahin sent deep thanks to the Government, Ministry of Public Security and people of Vietnam for the assistance.

On the afternoon of February 12, 2023, a representative of the Ministry of Public Security presented 2 tons of medical aid to the Turkish Government through AFAD in support of the country in extremely difficult times after the terrible earthquake occurred on 6/02.

On the afternoon of the same day, the Vietnamese police mission coordinated with AFAD to transport the aid to the designated areas, including Adiyaman's largest hospital for emergency and treatment while the rest will be transferred to mobile medical camps. The aid includes emergency medicines, essential drugs, medical supplies, field tents, means, chemicals for epidemic prevention, and medical equipment used in emergency and disaster situations.

It is known that the location where the Vietnamese police mission working is one of the three areas most devastated by the earthquake disaster.

After 3 days of working in Turkey, the Vietnamese rescue police mission have saved one person, moved bodies out of the ruins, and provide medicines to victims. On February 13, the Vietnamese rescue police mission moved to a new place, which  is more likely for alive victims, and Vietnamese police officers are racing against time to find and save survivors.
