Ministry of Public Security meets with reputable persons of Lai Chau province

PSNews - Lieutenant General Bui Mau Quan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Security, on behalf of the leadership of the Minitry of Public Security on July 13, had a meeting with reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities of Lai Chau province.

At the meeting, Deputy Head of the Lai Chau Provincial Commission for Ethnic Minority Affairs Lo Thi Vuong briefed the delegates on the achievements made by reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities in the province.

Mrs. Vuong revealed that Lai Chau province is home to 20 ethnic groups, including 19 ethnic minorities, accounting for over 86% of the population.

She said, Lai Chau province’s reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities in recent times have proved their leading role in doing economic activities and in maintaining security and order in the region by fighting against plots of hostile forces and unlawful missionary activities.

According to the Deputy Head of the Lai Chau Provincial Commission for Ethnic Minority Affairs, reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities of Lai Chau province also actively participated in prevention and fight against illegal migration activities, drug crime, and resolve many complicated conflicts in the area while contributing to continuously improving material and spiritual lives of local people and promoting ethnic cultural values.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Bui Mau Quan conveyed the greetings of Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security to the delegation of reputable persons of ethnic minorities of Lai Chau province.

He congratulated the great achievements attained by the reputable persons of the ethnic minority communities of Lai Chau province in recent years.

Lieutenant General Bui Mau Quan hoped in the coming time, the reputable persons of ethnic minorities of Lai Chau province will continue cementing solidarity of all ethnic minorities while actively mobilizing all people to implement the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State.

Lai Chau province’s reputable persons were also urged to put on the alert against plots of the hostile forces, contributing to ensuring security in the region while helping the police successfully fulfill all their assigned tasks.
