Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of National Defence review one-year of implementation of coordination plan to implement Project 06

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Ministry of National Defence organized a meeting to review the one-year implementation of the Coordination Plan between the two ministries to implement a project to apply population, identification and electronic authentication data to national digital transformation in the period 2022-2025 with a vision toward 2030, on the morning of October 17th, in Hanoi.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Head of the Working Group on Implementing Project 06 of the Ministry of National Defence and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Permanent Deputy Head of the Government’s Working Group on implementing Project 06, co-chaired the meeting.

Delivering reports at the meeting, Deputy Commander of the 86 Command under the Ministry of National Defence Major General Nguyen Tung Hung revealed that, over the past year, functional units and agencies of the two ministries have closely coordinated to verify information of citizens’ health checkups and treatment at military hospitals, integrate the VNeID app into the Ministry of National Defence’s public service portal as well as check mobile subscribers’ information in the national population database for fake ones.

In terms of crime prevention and control work, the two ministries have make full use of the national population database to determine subjects in the field, shared with each other information about the exit-and-entry history through border checkpoints as well as the judicial records, criminal records of citizens.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long underlined that the close and effective coordination between the two ministries in implementing Project 06 had helped them successfully fulfill their political task, contributing largely to safeguarding national security and defence, and promoting socio-economic development of the country.

To effectively implement the coordination plan in the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long suggested that involved units and agencies of the two ministries continue to join efforts to realize the coordination plan, complete the legal corridor allowing the two sides to work with each other online, sharing information and exchange data online.

 Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh praised the involved units and agencies of the two ministries for their joint efforts in implementing Project 06.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long attended a ceremony to sign a coordination deal between functional units and agencies of the two ministries on the implementation of Project 06 in the coming time.
