Welcoming Mr. Yamada Junichi to Vietnam, Minister To Lam stated that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security always appreciates JICA's cooperation and support and attaches great importance to the bilateral relations between the two sides.

Minister To Lam thanked JICA for effectively supporting the Ministry of Public Security in holding training courses and training programs to build capacity of Vietnamese police officers, via the Cybersecurity Project for the period 2022 - 2024, project to build large coastal patrol boats for the Ministry of Public Security.

Minister To Lam suggested the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and JICA regularly exchange ideas and work closely on solutions to remove obstacles to bilateral cooperation and continue the project to build capacity of the Vietnamese fire and rescue force. 

According to the host, the Ministry of Public Security is about to complete the procedures and finalize the report on the adjustment of the project to be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval by the end of 2023.

He added, the project to improve capacity of the Vietnam Waterway Police is prepared as scheduled. 

It is known that JICA has approved to send a survey team to Vietnam to work with local competent agencies on technical specifications and total investment for patrol boats to make a report on feasibility assessment and other project documents. 

Minister To Lam affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security is committed to working closely with and actively supporting JICA to reach its goals.

Sincerely thanking Minister To Lam for the meeting, Mr. Yamada Junichi applauded Minister To Lam’s suggestions on strengthening relations and cooperation between the two agencies.

The JICA Vice President expressed his belief that, on the basis of the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia, cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Japanese partners, especially JICA, will be more and more expanded and successful.
