Ministry of Public Security plays key role in implementing Project 06

Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an national conference on the afternoon of December 21 to evaluate results of the two-year implementation of the Government-launched project on enhancing the application of population, electronic identification and electronic authentication data for national digital transformation in the period 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030 (Project 06).

The conference was held online connecting delegates attending it from the Government’s meeting room and those from localities.

At the meeting, Standing Deputy Head of the Project 06 Working Group and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc presented a summary report on the implementation of the project.

The report read, after 2 years of implementing Project 06, the Working Group has completed institutions and directed agencies, ministries and localities to upgrade and provide more online public services.

So far, 25/25 basic public services, mainly serving people’s needs, required by Project No.06 and 13/28 of public services articulated in Decision No. 422 of the Prime Minister have been completed.

Speaking at the conference, Minister To Lam highly valued the key role of the Working Group in guiding agencies, ministries, branches and localities to effectively implement Project 06 and the instructions of the Prime Minister.

Minister To Lam also underlined the Ministry of Public Security’s role in guiding other ministries and localities to implement the project, saying that the Ministry of Public Security had given guidance and closely coordinated with ministries, branches and localities in carrying out their subprojects while actively advising the Government and the Politburo to issue policies to build the National Data Center, which is expected to best facilitate the building of a digital government, a digital economy. , and a digital society in the near future.

To achieve more positive results of the Project 06 implementation, Minister To Lam proposed three big solutions: First, it is necessary to focus on digitalizing important documents directly related to people's lives while revising the procedures for the application of electronic data, simplifying administrative procedures, creating the most favorable conditions for people and businesses by improving the quality of and providing more public services.

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the recent good results have show that Project 06 has been on the right track as it has largely facilitated the management and administration of agencies, sectors and localities at all levels, effectively supported socio-economic activities of people and businesses, and stepped up the national digital transformation process and the building of a digital governance, a smart governance, a digital economy and a digital society.
