Ministry of Public Security reviews results of one-year implementation of building of commune-level police force

Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General To Lam chaired a conference to evaluate the results of the implementation of Resolution No. 12 promulgated on July 25, 2022 by the Public Security Central Party Committee on enhancing the building of the commune-level police force to meet the task requirements in the new situation, on the afternoon of January 31, in Hanoi.

Overview of the conference.

Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Dang Hong Duc presented a general report at the conference, saying that, after the one-year of the implementation of Resolution No. 12 local police units proactively advised the Ministry's leadership on effective approaches to reach the goals of the resolution.

Notably, the project to build the commune-level police force received much attention and care from leaders of leaders of the Ministry of Public Security as well as relevant under-ministerial agencies and local-level police units.

Involved agencies and units usually got useful professional and technical advice on the organizational structure, staffing, functions, tasks as well as budget, equipment and logistics for the standard communal-level police unit.

Thanks to the sound leadership of leaders of the ministry, agencies and units, the commune-level police force has now become a professional regular law enforcement force, which has contributed  to maintaining security and order stability at the grassroots level, facilitating local socio-economic development and improving people's quality of life.

After the general report, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To presided over the discussion session, where delegates highlighted good results of the work, pointed out limitations and proposed approaches to resolve remaining issues.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam praised the relevant agencies and units, particularly local-level police units, for their great effort and achievements in building the commune-level police force.

To accelerate the building of the commune-level police force capable of solving security and order issues right from the beginning and at the grassroots, Minister To Lam requested leaders of the involved agencies and units to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the policies and guiding documents of the Party, the State, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security on building the commune-level police force.

He underlined that all relevant agencies and units should seriously implement the key tasks articulated in the Notice to be sent by the Office of the Ministry of Public Security after the conference while immediately overcoming their shortcomings and regularly inspecting the implementation of tasks assigned to their subordinates.

The minister clearly stated that leaders of relevant agencies and units are mainly responsible for the results of the building of the commune-level police unit within their authority.
