Ministry of Public Security reviews task performance of criminal investigation sector in Q1

Minister of Public Security chaired an online conference reviewing the work results of the criminal investigation sector in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, on April 10.

Addressing the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc stated that the Ministry's leaders gave comprehensive directions to the sector on all aspects of work, from taking preventive measures to reduce crime rates to investigating and handling criminal cases.

Further, the ministry leadership continued perfecting institutions and the legal system, facilitating the investigation of criminal cases, posting investigators to the commune-level police post as well as providing hi-tech equipment to the sector, supporting the criminal investigation force to change its working method from traditional to modern with the effective exploitation of the national database on population, citizen identification, electronic identification and authentication as well as digitizing professional data and employing many professional software.

Thanks to the sound leadership and large investment of the ministry leadership, the quality of criminal investigation work has been improved, and the time of investigation of cases, including major, complicated ones related to unprecedented highly specialized fields, has been cut down while the team of investigators has become more and more proficient at their professional areas. 

Speaking at the conference, Minister To Lam affirmed that the ministry's leadership always considers prevention, investigation and handling of crime a key and important task for the entire police force as the work contributes positively to ensuring social order and safety and serving socio-economic development of the whole country and each locality.

The minister praised the criminal investigation force as well as police units at all levels for their work results they had achieved in recent times.

Minister To Lam requested police forces at all levels to smartly combine professional and social preventive measures to reduce crime rates in their localities while improving the quality of crime investigation and handling, strengthening international cooperation in preventing and combating crime.

He also urged the entire police force, especially the criminal police sector, to step up digital transformation and application of science and technology to work and complete all assigned tasks.
