Ministry of Public Security reviews theory and practice of building a grassroots police force

The Theoretical Council of the Ministry of Public Security held a scientific symposium entitled "Building a grassroots police force: Theory and practice," on the afternoon of April 6, 2023, in Hanoi with the attendance Standing Vice Chairman of the Theoretical Council of the Ministry of Public Security Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung.

At the meeting, delegates with their knowledge, rich experience and high sense of responsibility discussed theoretical and practical issues in building the grassroots-level police force.

They clarified the need to build the grassroots-level police force, the scientific basis for the building of the police force, and evaluated the current situation of the work, highlighting the achievements and pointing out the limitations and inadequacies in building the grassroots-level police force and recommending solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of the building of the communal-level police force.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung affirmed that delegates’ opinions and ideas were of great value in terms of both theory and practice, serving as important scientific arguments for the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security to guide public security agencies and units toward the organization and training of the grassroots police force to meet the needs for maintaining order and security at the grassroots-level area.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung asked the Organizing Committee of the Symposium to record and summarize all the comments, speeches and documents delivered by delegates at the meeting and then submit the summary to the Minister of Public Security and the Theoretical Council of the Ministry of Public Security.

According to the deputy minister, such symposium with good scientific arguments and practical experience helps the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security direct the building of the grassroots-level police force to meet the force’s task requirements in the new situation.
