Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang chaired the meeting.

According to reports delivered at the meeting, in August, the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leaders directed all public security units and agencies to effectively implement all directions of the Party and State’s leaders on safeguarding national security and ensuring social order and safety.

The Public Security Forces stepped up the implementation of the 2024 public security work plan, while taking the initiative in protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety, so as to create a safe and favorable environment for socio-economic development and enhancing Vietnam's position in the region and the world.

Under the chair of Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To, representatives from under-ministerial units and agencies discussed and evaluated work results of the Public Security Forces in August, and proposed approaches to complete the remaining tasks by the end of the year.

Delegates mainly focused on evaluating the social order-related violation situation and difficulties in reducing the crime rate, and worked on approaches to effectively prevent and fight crimes in the fields, including food safety violations during the Mid-Autumn Festival, while accelerating the investigation of major cases and  implementation of the project to develop a national data center.

Addressing the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Public Security Forces in August, and requested that all public security units and agencies should thoroughly grasp the security and order situation so as to avoid strategic surprises as well as complicated security and order cases.

The Minister also requested that relevant public security units and agencies should advise authorities at all levels on measures to protect cybersecurity, actively detect and address the root causes of crimes, while actively combating new types of crime as well as reducing the crime rate in a sustainable and substantial manner.
