More than 250 athletes race to raise fund for victims of Agent Orange

PSNews-On the occasion of the 56th Anniversary of the Vietnamese Agent Orange Day, the Da Nang Association of Victims of Agent Orange in collaboration with its partners has held a bike race to raise fund for local victims of Agent Orange (AO). 

On July 30, at Bien Dong Park of Da Nang, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange of Da Nang in cooperation with Asanzo corporation organized the first Da Nang Asanzo Cup 2017. The program was participated by various agencies, departments and units of Da Nang.

In particular, the race attracted more than 250 athletes, including professional athletes of Da Nang and other provinces, as well as foreigners working and living in Da Nang.

Additionally,athletes from 32 bicycle clubs in various provinces and cities nationwide divided into two age groups, namely 18-44 and over 45, also actively participated in the race.

Before the race officially opened the organizers held a 50m wheelchair race, called “Outdo yourself”,for AO victims with the aim of encouraging the children to overcome their difficulties.

On this occasion, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange of Da Nang also launched a fund raising program, mobilizing organizations and people from all walks of life to participate in support for more than 5,000 AO victims living in the community and 150 AO victims cared at the 3 facilities of the Center for Agent Orange Victims and Disadvantaged Children of Da Nang.
