MPS amends Public Security Law to better ensure security and order

PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on April 6 organized a meeting of the Drafting Board of the amended Public Security Law.

The meeting was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, Chief of the Drafting Board. The event also saw the participation of various members of the Drafting Board, representatives from relevant ministries and branches.

Members of the Drafting Board highly valued the draft of the amended Public Security Law, discussed and proposed ideas related to various issues. 

They focused discussions on defining ranks in accordance with working titles and appointing leading positions in the apparatus of the MPS, agreed to draw up a concrete roadmap to reorganize the communal police force, and raised some technical opinions related to the Law Project.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Lam emphasized that the promulgation of the amended Public Security Law is an urgent and important issue which will help improve the legal basis for readjusting and streamlining the Public Security Forces' apparatus for more efficiency and effectiveness, and reorganizing the forces. 

Minister To Lam also asked the relevant agencies and units to continue collecting ideas, analyzing and supplementing the draft of the revised law, and completed and submit it to the Prime Minister for consideration.
