MPS and MoD reviews cooperation

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and Ministry of Defense (MoD) held an online meeting on January 5 in Hanoi to review their implementation of the Government's Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP dated September 5, 2019 on strengthening coordination between the two ministries.

The event was co-chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of Defense, and Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security.

According to reports at the event, the public security and military units at all levels seriously and effectively implemented Decree 03 in 2020. and the two forces also advised the Party and State on measures to settle all situations related to security and defense, and effectively respond to traditional and non-traditional security threats, thanks to the timely direction of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense and the Public Security Central Party Committee, Ministry of Public Security as well as supports from local Party committees, authorities and people.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To requested that all public security and military units should carefully review their cooperation and coordination in 2020.

The two forces should always be ready for all situations, and prepare forces and assets to protect the upcoming political, social and diplomatic events in the country. They should coordinate to implement effectively the Politburo’s resolution on “National strategy to protect the Fatherland on cyberspace strategy” and “National cybersecurity strategy”, take measures to ensure security and safety of information, prevent cyber attacks on vital information systems of the country.

They also should take drastic measures to prevent and combat crimes and social evils, launch campaigns to ensure security and order during the 13th National Party Congress and the Traditional Lunar New Year festival.

Deputy Minister of Defense Phan Van Giang asked both forces to enhance their solidarity and cooperation to prevent, fight and neutralize all conspiracies and activities by hostile forces, protect the Party, State and the people, ensure political security and social order and safety, national sovereignty and territory.
