MPS and MOFA discuss political security issues

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a workshop on political security issues in support of the development of mass organizations in Vietnam and associations of Vietnamese living abroad, on August 27.

The event saw the presence of Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization;Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Mr. To Anh Dung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Under the chair of the two Deputy Ministers, delegates discussed various issues, clarified a number of difficulties and challenges faced by the state management over associations and delegations, and gave many proposals and recommendations on the management of mass organizations and associations.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Truong Thi Mai highly appreciated the good preparation by the MPS and other relevant agencies, ministries and branches, demonstrating the role and importance of ensuring political security related to the development of domestic mass organizations and associations of overseas Vietnamese.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Thanh highly appreciated the comments of the delegates and highlighted that they had exactly assessed the situation of political security of these organizations and overseas Vietnamese associations.

Deputy Minister Thanh also asked the Public Security Forces to further study and grasp the situation, proactively detect and neutralize activities of hostile forces, and  resolutely handle anyone taking advantage of mass organizations and associations to infringe upon national security and violate the laws.
