PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS), and the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) co-held a video-conference on January 6 to review their joint resolution No.01/TW on "Educating family members not to commit crimes and avoid social evils" in the period of 2017 – 2020.

Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Ms. Ha Thi Nga, President of the VWU co-chaired the conference.

During the period of 2017 - 2020, the Steering Committee for Joint Resolution No.01/TW instructed the public security forces and the Women's Union’s affiliates at all levels to successfully coordinate in preventing and fighting crime, maintaining political security, social order and safety in residential areas. 

Specially, it also brought into full play the strengths of the two sectors in crime prevention, public education, law dissemination, as well as in helping ex-offenders to reintegrate into the community.

Prioritizing social preventive measures, the Public Security Forces and affiliates of the Women’s Union at all level regularly coordinated to promote information and education on crime and social evils in every family.

When major social problems emerged in the community, the two sectors promptly organized seminars and forums to discuss the causes and preventive approaches, and directed police units and women organizations to seek ways to become victims of the social problems as well as to prevent them from committing offences.
