The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Central Theoretical Council co-held a meeting to review their coordination program for the 2021-2026 period, on the afternoon of January 21st, in Hanoi.

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang and Member of the Politburo and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang co-chaired the meeting.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized that, under the leadership and direction of MPS and the Central Theoretical Council, their affiliated units had closely followed the principles of the coordination program, effectively implemented their assigned tasks and achieved significant results.

According to reports at the meeting, over the past 3 years, MPS and the Central Theoretical Council have carried out 29 tasks set in the coordination program, focusing on conducting scientific research projects to clarify and deepen a number of viewpoints, guidelines, mottos, policies and solutions related to the work of ensuring security and order and building the Public Security Forces.

Discussing at the meeting, delegates deeply analyzed the coordination results of the two agencies over the past 3 years, pointed out remaining shortcomings and obstacles, carefully analyzed their causes, as well as proposed approaches to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the coordination in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang underlined that the theoretical study coordination between MPS and the Central Theoretical Council had closely followed the Party’s policies on ensuring security and order and building the Public Security Forces, stressing that the collaboration between the two agencies had made significant contributions, helping advise the Party and the State to address emerging complex issues at home and overseas, including matters in cyberspace and non-traditional security threats.

Concluding the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated and applauded the significant results achieved by the two sides in implementing the coordination program between MPS and the Central Theoretical Council over the past time.

Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the two agencies should draft detailed coordination plans for each year to include the practical requirements for the missions of protecting security and order and building the Public Security Forces, contributing to the leadership of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS toward the entire working fields of the Public Security Forces.
