MPS congratulates VBS on Lord Buddha’s birthday

PSNews - A working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) led by Senior Lieutenant General, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam on May 22 congratulated Buddhists on Lord Buddha’s 2562nd birthday while visiting the Executive Council of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha (VBS).

The delegation was welcomed by Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, and other dignitaries.

Deputy Minister Nam extended his congratulations and best regards to the council, and all Buddhist monks, nuns and followers on Lord Buddha’s birthday.

Deputy Minister Nam appreciated the contributions of the VBS to the national revolutionary cause in general, and their supports to the People’s Public Security Forces in particular. He also hoped that the Buddhist monks, nuns and followers will further contribute to cementing the national solidarity bloc as well as the national construction and defense cause, and building better and happier life for the people.

He also informed that police forces are in close collaboration with the VBS preparing for the upcoming 3rd Vesak, to be held in Tam Chuc, Ha Nam province as well as for other important events of the VBS.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu thanked the MPS for the visit and great care for the VBS over the past time. The Most Venerable also confirmed that the VBS under the leadership of the Executive Council will continue its coordination with the police force to ensure security and order for a peaceful, happy and prosperous life of the people.
